Just passed IBM XML Certification yesterday. Now I'm qualified for the following titles: Sun Certified Programmer for the Java2 Platform. IBM Certified Developer - XML and Related Technologies, V1. How does the questions look like? Same flavors as "XML Design questions" designed by Ajith. For folks waiting for any good Mock Exam on XML, you can wish Ajith to finish his question set soon. Good Luck to all of you folks. Enoc

Ashutosh, I wish I could remember all of 74 questions. You have to try IBM pre-Assessment/Sample Test to get the feeling of what kind of test it is. Time is very critical for me to answer 74 questions within 90 minutes. I am still not used to those kind of question like "most likely" and "least likely". In fact, most of time, all of the 4 answers are reasonable, they just ask you to pick the best one. I am kind of guy of programmer's thinking, I prefer the JCSP type of Exam, you got exact one answer after you read the code. All the questions are testing your foundamental/conceptal understanding of XML basics. I got two questions on Xpath that I did not prepare for it. I will recommand "XML pocket reference book" from Oreilly (no matter which big book you are planning for this Exam), i read through them on the last two days. It is less than 100 pages (pocket size), but it helps me to review what I knew/learned. I only spent less than two weeks on preparing this Exam. It doesn't mean this test is easy, but I have been working on related project in last six months. Enoc BTY: the cost for "XML Pocket Reference" only costs for $7-9 from online store.
Congratulations Enoc!!. Well done! I couldn't agree with you better about the time management. When I first read the XML certification description I felt 50% passing score was too low. Only after I took the exam I realized why they kept it so low!! Some questions are quite long and descriptive and it is so easy to lose track of time. Map has already put together a mock exam page with all the questions( and answers ) we discussed in earlier posts. We will move it to primetime soon and add more questions to it as frequently as we can. I was also thinking, may be we can get the questions from IBM's pre-assessment test and discuss the answers. Does this sound like something you are interested in?? Ofcourse I will have to check copyright issues first. I should mention here that, we should refrain from discussing real exam questions. All the questions that appear in the actual exams are copyrighted and disucssing them in public is not only illegal, but also unethical. So lets not do it!! Ajith
