Hi, there, I just passed the XML certification test and wrote a score of 87. Yes, the test is really tough. The questions it contains are more practical than academic, and can really test how much one masters XML in a on-site way, not just a book-to-book test. I guess that with little programming experience with XML, one can hardly pass it. With over a year XML programming experinece, I took 35 evenings to prepare for it by reading W3C specifications for XML1.0, Schema Prime, XSLT1.0, XPath/XPointer1.0, SOAP, DOM2 and also SAX2. My focus is on the first 4 readings and tried to get understanding in depth.

The exam does indicate the number of choices for each question. More than that it would mark the answer incomplete, if you do not select all the choices. Later, Hema
