Hi,
I have recently cleared my third (SCWCD) cert. I have decided to go for both IBM-141 and IBM-483 (Enterprise Java Connectivity; EJBs), but I want to take up the 'easier' one first; the one that could be done in the shortest possible time.
I would be grateful for advice from anybody who has done both or knows about both.
Thank you.

I guess it all depends on your knowledge on either of these topics!

Little info please. I've seen a lot of guys talking about Enterprise Connectivity IBM test#483 on this forum. Can someone give me some insight into how to prepare for the exam for a guy like me with just SCJP2 knowledge and some decent OOPS concepts? If i have some application server like say Weblogic on my m/c, is that going to be sufficient for practicing all the concepts required for taking this certification.

Hi Guys ,
I would suggest to go for 483 Although it depends on your Experince and Working Knowledge
The Reason is very simple in J2EE there are less realted technologies or API's typically RMI, JTA,JAS knowledge is required and you don't need to go in such heavey detail but while working in J2EE XML Deployment Descriptors are heavily used so you should have at least idea of XML Basics and the second thing is you have some concept of Databases.Simply going for EJB removes a layer of abstraction often called "backend application using XML " which is an abstraction for a person directly starting XML so knowing EJB will resolve this Issue.
The recommended resources which I would like to share are:
Number One:
www.theserverside.com
download Mastering EJB by Ed Roman I think its best book also Design patterns book for EJB is Available for free
Number two:
Read Enterprise Java bean Book by Richard Monson Hafel O'rielly Publisher I think this book is enough for Exam
Number three:
Go through EJB Specification
and do some work on RMI as well
The time you need for running an ejb depends on your Application Server .... I used Jboss and its really your boss not you to be his boss.I will be going for it soon still waiting for free voucher I passed Sample test 7 days ago but still no voucher
