hi monickam, it does not matter whether u r in chennai or in coimbatore,u can give this exam in any of the sylvan prometric centres, enquire for any such centres and ask them abt the fees. this question has been asked n number of times,i shall give u some tips of where to get the materials for the certification.tho' i have not given the certification yet,i have gone thro this forum and taken these tips. may be it might be of some use for u. Professional xml second edition has been the most wanted and important book for this certification. these were taken from many links from this forum. Certification tips: 1.very important link http://www.coderanch.com/t/146243/po/certification/Passed-test 2.Well, the exam is not as easy as the sample test. I had quite a few questions on XSL:FO. I hadn't prepared much on FO so its not surprising that I scored the least in XML rendering. Major number of questions included topics on XSLT and schema. A couple on Soap, XLnk, Query, and XPointer. 3. over a year XML programming experinece, I took 35 evenings to prepare for it by reading W3C specifications for XML1.0, Schema Prime, XSLT1.0, XPath/XPointer1.0, SOAP, DOM2 and also SAX2. My focus is on the first 4 readings and tried to get understanding in depth. 4.Don't forget to read XML specs. No book is as good as the spec itself. If the document on w3c.org is too esoteric for you, try reading the best annotated xml spec published ever. I have fallen in love with this document.DOM till level 3 is important 5. http://www.coderanch.com/t/146209/po/certification/Online-resources-XML-certification-your 6.Then i got Professional XML second edition and passed the exam within 6 days. 7. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1861005059/qid=1012315350/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_71_1/102-0569626-1332127 this is 2nd edition link ************************************************************************************************* 1. Hi, I am planning to take 141 test. Is the book beginning XML (wrox publishers) is a good book to start with. Or should I jump directly to professional XML. I have worked on Java and other programming languages but I am new to XML technologies. Please guide me. Anup

XML is not Rocket Science. since you have worked on java and stuff like that , go for one book. So professional XML, 2nd edition s'd be enough.
