Hi All,
I passed the IBM XML certification exam -141 yesterday. I scored just 68%. I wish i had a better score. But on the whole it was good experience preparing and taking the exam. I had worked on XSL for about 2-3 months and had pretty good knowledge about XSL.
I started preparing for the exam 1 month back and was determined not to postpone my dates, but infact i had to postpone from last week to this week as my confidence level was low.
Before beginning the preperation i took all the mock exams, to know where i stand and what areas i need to improve. So i started preparing on my weaker points.
I referred to Profession XML 2e.I think this book is enough except for XML schema
For schema the w3c primer's PPT was very good, Don't miss this , I learnt a lot about schema by reading this.
Visit javaranch atleast once day, This forum reaaly helped me a lot, Thanks every one.
For XML-links i read articles on
For XML signature i referred to IBM developer works article.
Refer to XSLT tips on, it will be pretty useful. If you can get hold of Doug tidwell's XSLT book or articles, read that.He is my favourite , ofcourse u will get a better understanding of XSLT.
I tried mock exams from witscale, skillometer, IBM sample test, sample tests on the javaranch. I searched for the IBM certified people on this java ranch to know about their experience and the type of questions asked in the test, it helped me alot.

Here is my break up
Category% of test Score
Architecture 19%54%
Information modelling26%73%
XML processing33%73%
XMl rendering11%66%
testing and tuning11%66%
Most of the questions were scenario related, even the questions related to DTD and the XML schema.
1 question about SOAP
1 Question about xsl:fo abou fo:inline, which i didnt know
3 scenarios spread across 7-8 questions to find the answers for MOST likely in design and least likely in design
1 question about events in DOM, i was happy when i got this, because i studied a little bit.
5-6 questions on DTD /schema
4-5 on finding the XSLT output
1 on XLink
no questions on Xpointer
Thats all i can remember as of now. If you have any queries, please post it, so that I can answer.
Now iam heading towards SCJEA, but i would like to contribute as much possible in this forum and learn more from you guys.
All the best.

Hi Jim,
Mock exams helped me to a certain extent,in answering non scenario questions. To repeat what others have told, know the concepts, Read scenario, understand question, because whatever the scenario question you answer in mock exam, it will be altogether a diffrent scenario in the real exam.
Best wishes
