Today I passed 141.
My story:
Last January I miserably failed. That was old test, harder than the current one.
My score was slightly below passing (well, I do not remember neither my score, nor the number of questions for that version). I was a bit frustrated... .
Then I decided to put up references to 140, 141
The year was not wery easy to me: shortly after that I was laid off, than found a new job,
but abandoned the idea to re-take the test.
When IBM offered free voucher, I took advantage of it.
In my busy life with tight assignments, I scheduled only one week for preparation, after hours and weekend.
Well, as it usually happens in my life, the problems started to accumulate by the end of the week, and I spent all Saturday doing job-related work rather than preparing for the test.
The book I read was Essential XML Quick Reference (pdf, no print). I hardly managed to read a half of it before test.
Anyway, I would be happy to pass it even with the passing score, this does not mean much for me anymore.
A least I did something useful for Javaranch and XML cert. community.
With 3,500+ visits to the ref. page, (some of them are mine this is something!
Best of luck to everyone!
Viktor

Congrats Victor!
Can you through some light on the question pattern you faced? How many questions were scenario based?Any questions based on DOM/SAX/XSL-FO?
Thnaks in advance.

Viktor,
Congratulations on your final success!
A big thanks for your reference page. It helps me(and many people) a lot to pass the exam.

Victor
Congratulations for your success! Hats off to your contributions to the community!
Axel, I like the football coach's comments. This is all that counts.
Congratulations to Jayadev and Sameer too, and all you guys got the free vouchers. What a great day of yesterday!!!
I took the sample test after work yesterday; my guess is I was too late.

To Rajesh
There were some scenario based questions. I do not remember exactly (my memory is good, but it is short ), about 5...6 or so.
And Yes, there were DOM/SAX/XSL-FO questions, a couple for each of these, at least.
Cheers,
Viktor

Dear Javaranchers,
As my XML certification effort is really finished, I would like to say THANK YOU to every participant of this forum.
I think it was a mutual benefit for everyone involved.
I also think IBM certification authority was fair to offer free vouchers to give a second chance to those who failed. Thank IBM!
(Apparently, I got even 2 (!) free vouchers for 141 test (non-transferrable, exp. Nov.30, 2002), I used only one...)
Thank everybody for your congrats, special thanks to moderators, contributors and to those who contacted me and really helped with ref. pages.
Viktor

Its very unlikely. I would suggest you try, try again. You might actually qualify and get the voucher.
Good luck,
Hema

Hi Viktor,
Many Many Congratulations!!
In January, I just passed the test with 66%. I feel like taking the test again to improve my score.
The sample test has been very helpful.
