Guys This is my first mail. I took a certification test after 2 yrs.(last scjd in 01). I didn't have much time for preparation, have my finals from next week. I just scanned the free material online. Read the java xml book and a few chapters on XSL. Overall i cleared the test as i know the practical use of all the technologies. I was not really conversant with the names of the functions is xsl etc, so got a low score. I just took the IBM sample test.. i think the final test was pretty similar. My suggestions for you folks : 1) Study DTD's in detail. I got some stupid and annoying questions about deprecated stuff from DTD's. 2) Work extensively on xsl. I recommend you to take xslfo seriously. I hate formatting and the view layer.. but there were plenty of questions using the same. 3) U need to know xml schemas inside out. 4) The questions on web services were take aways. 5) The most confusing questions were from xsl and easiest on general situations-architecture questions. 6) I got no question on xml signatures or encryption. So you should not expect more than 1-2 questions. Hope this is of some use. Take Care and EnjOy -- Puneet S Chawla www.cise.ufl.edu/~psc
