Feeling very good to pass the beta exam! I didn't use any books because those technologies are still evovling and maturing and there are no good books actually to cover all of the topics in the exam objectives.

Got the FREE test voucher, downloaded a lot of FREE materials to read, installed the FREE developer's pack from Sun, used my FREE time to do the preparation, and finally got a FREE cerficate, now I'm feeling a big FREE after 2-month waiting!!

The only thing I cost was that I had to drive to the testing center and the gas was so pricy in May.

Good luck and congratulations to all new SCDJWS!

Here is my story for this exam:

03/16, Sun Microsystems was developing a new Java certificate "Sun Certified Developer for Java(TM) Web Services" focusing on Web Services and they recruited 400 Java developers all over the world to attend the new exam, so I got an invitation and became one of them.
04/14, got the exam objectives and a free exam voucher from Sun and started serious preparations. Because the Web Services technologies (SOAP, UDDI, WSDL) and their Java implementation APIs (JAXP, JAX-RPC, SAAJ, JAXR, etc) are still evolving and maturing, there are no good books covering all of them. So I had to download a lot of related reading materials and Sun's "Web Services Developer's Pack" to play around.
05/21, took 3-day PTO for the last-minute exam cram and took the exam at the THOMSON PROMETRIC TEST CENTER in Bellevue Community College in Washington. I had to answer 174 multiple choices questions within 4.5 hours.
07/22, got the notification from Sun that I passed the exam and got officially certified.

Good luck to all of you for your future efforts.
