Did any body had a perfect score on the test. I thought Nick had 97 % and any other scores above 90%. Will be source of inspiration for future test takers. Thanks Raj

Nick got 97% in the offically released exam... I think he is the first exam taker who took the officially released exam... And it's briliant score!!! I think no one got higher than him in both beta and officially released exams...

Because I believe you can handle it, if you are going to be participle into it. You are not planned to take it in a few months only becos you are working on other more important areas. Nick

SCDJWS is not that important for you I suppose. You just need to make sure you can take part in SCEA part I beta and SCJP Tiger beta when they come out. Nick

You are right... BTW, the new SCEA has beta for its part I only? What about part II and III? No betas for those?

I dont think Part II and Part III will have a beta. Could you imagine that the beta period is 1 month for you to finish all UML diagrams, and write the documentation? Nick

What's going to change regarding SCEA - as I understand it doesn't cover any particular version of the technology? And do you happen to know when that could happen? Cheers, Tomasz

Nicholas: Could you imagine that the beta period is 1 month for you to finish all UML diagrams, and write the documentation? The beta exam for the SCJD exam did actually last 2 1/2 months!! Ko Ko Naing: and SCJP going to be upgraded again? ... Yes too! Corresponding to the Tiger... Ko Ko, would you like to share the pointer that provides this information? Thank you

In such sense, do you think there will be a beta exam for SCEA part II as well? Nick

There is no official announcement for that at this moment... Even though there is a smaller difference between J2SE 1.2 to J2SE 1.4, compared to J2SE 1.4 to J2SE 5.0, Sun got SCJP 1.4... Imagine the gap of difference from J2SE 1.4 to Tiger is very very large and even Sun marketing changed its name from J2SE 1.5 to J2SE 5.0....

In such sense, do you think there will be a beta exam for SCEA part II as well? Well, I'm quite sure Sun as well as any other corporation won't release a new exam without beta testing it. This would be plain non-sense not to get feedback from the community before the launch... There is always at least an 18 months lag between two certification exam releases. Given that SCJP 1.4 exam has been around for a while now and that J2SE 1.5 will be released any time soon, we can expect a new certification by Q1/Q2 2005 I guess. I still think that since J2EE 1.4 has been finalized, we can expect Sun to focus on the beta for SCEA before the one for SCJP...

We(Nick and me) do think so and that's what we are waiting for as the next step to Sun certification learning path...

So the new SCEA beta will be later than Jan 2005... You can still start working on it without knowing the objectives, it won't hurt, I assure you!! Since you are supposed have some experience in using J2EE, why not start coding some toy project to get hands-on practice?!

Valentin, I do appreciate your suggestion... You are right that it won't hurt to learn... But if SCJP Tiger is coming soon, I'm running on the track of learning Tiger in the meantime... Tiger's new features are so many that we should start to learn by now...

Nicholas, Do you still have enough room on your CV to talk about your experience and past positions? Just teasing you

Valentin ,
Do you still have enough room on your CV to talk about your experience and past positions?
YES. I am sure there are lots of spaces still. If I pass in SCJP Tiger, I will kick away SCJP 1.2 and SCJP 1.4 (SAI). Also, if I pass in both 1z1-042 and 1z1-043 (coming soon), I will also kick away Oracle9i DBA, and so on. Thus, unless I got some new certs (not upgrade), there are still enough rooms for me. Nick
