I don't like the crystal naked man on the book cover. Why is he thinking & worrying so much? Did he fail the test? The cover needs to have more positive elements. Red & yellow are not my favourite colors

Just FYI The picture of the Statue is a replica of The Thinker by Auguste Rodin.

The sculpture of Auguste Rodin is generally considered to be the most important contribution to the world of sculpture in the 19th century.

Current Release Date 2008, April 24
Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services Study Guide (Exam 310-220)
This is only the latest of countless delays.
If I remember correctly its initial release date was January or March 2005.

The publisher, the authors and the vendor owe an explaination to the SCDJWS community . Aren't they doing a disservice by roping up false final dates time and again!

I am very unhappy. I am gonna go with RMH - J2EE Web Services.

I was actually thinking of penning a book on that very subject, but looking at the exam objectives, I can't help but think doing a book on that set of objectives would be like doing a book on a carburator engine. Web Services has changed significantly since those exam objectives were released. Surely this exam will be updated soon. Then maybe we'll have a good book on getting Web Services Certified by Sun.

Do you suggest we wait, learning the new WebServices and take up the exam later when it's updated?

See this discussion. Back on 09/10/2007, that person from my office who went to Sun to work on the new version SCEA exam came back and said that a great deal of progress was made and that they are on track. Hopefully they will finish the new version of that exam and continue with the others.

Yes, there is going to be a new SCWCD Exam too, and that one will be out before the new SCDJWS exam. If fact, the colleague I am talking about, Phillip Paz, has been helping Bryan Basham, and a bunch of others on the team for that exam's upgrade, for a couple weeks now.

I will let you know if I hear anything further.

They have the basic information about the test at

http://www.sun.com/training/catalog/courses/CX-310-230.xml

So I assume they are getting closer. Keep checking the link. It won't be long, my friends.
