You can refer to the following resources:
J2EE WebServices by Richard Monson-Haefel (RMH): all chapters + appendices E, F & G. You may want to skip reading UDDI and JAXR from here and instead just refer to MZ's notes (see below) on these topics.

Sun's Blueprint book - Designing Webservices using J2EE 1.4: whole book
