Hello All,
I'm new to Web Services. I'm looking for a good book to start. Went through some of the posts and decided to buy J2EE Web Services -RMH. Want to confirm, if this "http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0321146182" is the latest edition available in the market? It is published in Oct'2003.

Thanks,
Sridhar.

This is the latest edition, I think you had it right:

Creating J2EE Web Services, Oct 17th, 2003

These books are a little more current:

Designing Web Services with the J2EE(TM) 1.4 Platform: JAX-RPC, SOAP, and XML Technologies, June 2004

Real World Web Services, Oct. 2004

Cheers!

Often referred to as the Blueprints in this forum, they are available on-line: On-line HTML PDF version

However the Blueprints are more design-oriented (How to use Web services in architecture, RPC vs. Document, etc. ) while RMH is more concerned with the APIs and how they are employed - so they are not interchangeable.

For a more hands-on approach take a look at Files to create a Java web services by hand
