I want to give the SCDJWS exam. I have the RMH book of Jan 2004 edition.
Is it still good enough or I need to buy a fresh copy?

There is no need for a "fresh copy".

While there may be "different editions" ( https://coderanch.com/t/148763/java-Web-Services-SCDJWS/certification/Which-Book#000015 ) the content should be identical.
There never has been an "update" (of the book or the exam).
