Need to lay good foundation

I am planning to write web service exam and started reading monson haefel web service book and reached upto JAX-RPC chapter. Before proceeding further, i need to know whether my understanding is right?

Please correct me if something/my understanding is wrong? My aim is not only to clear the exam, but need to understand concept well. I need to lay a good foundation.

    
As a web service provider: (for example: service for adding two numbers)
 
1. Write an interface.
2. Write an implementation for that interface.
3. Using some tools/GUI (JAX-RPC compiler) generate the WSDL from the implementation
4. Post the WSDL in public place like UDDI registry for client access.

    
As a client:
 
1. Get the required WSDL from the UDDI registry.
2. Using some tools/GUI(JAX-RPC compiler) generate the endpoint interface, stub (which will implement the endpoint interface) and service from the WSDL
3. Write a client to access the web service.
4. A call to the stub will initiate a SOAP request to the endpoint interface and the endpoint interface will send back the SOAP reposne to the client.
