This is very scary - is there anything I should be careful of?

Yes you should be careful and follow what is stated to the line. I had problems in my SCJD assignment once when instead of uploading a readme.txt file I uploaded a readme.html file.
A huge problem I had.

1 class diagram
1 Component diagram
4 Sequence OR Collaboration diagram (4 ucase)
The "Architect Certification FastPath" tutorial presents 2 case study. Each case study explains clearly how to draw Class Diagram, Component diagram, Sequence Diagram in terms of Jsp, servlet, EJB, UML stereotypes.
These document has been given at Javaone2001 Architect Certification Conference.
Sun expects you to provide READABLE UML diagrams and understand all the requirements issues. A right choice for a design issue without explanation has no value for Sun.

Last time I have posted a link for people who are interested (like you )to figure out what are the SCEA requirements...these link has been removed !!
I'm still wondering why ? ....because these link didn't contain any SOLUTION ....just the SCEA assignment objectives...
Sorry but I won't post the link about the right good UML compliant design diagram that Sun expects from you....because JavaRanch moderator might considered it as a kind of solution....
