I am starting off on my journey to become a SCEA and was wondering if anybody could tell me which is a better EJB book.
1. Mastering EJB - Ed Roman
2. Enterprise Javabeabs - Richard Monson-Haefel

Nehal

I am also new to this area and here is my experience. I have both the books and they both are great. I think only one book would not have been enough to help me grasp the concepts.
Since I am relatively new to EJBs too, I give a lot of importance to coding rather than just reading.

I had started with ed roman book, which helped lot. After initial concepts I would suggest to go for EJB SPECS. And off course Blueprints will help much.

If you have time try reading ED Roman first .. It is written much more in a simpler way. The content is to the point and is lucid to understand.
From the exams perspective it is better to read Monson Hafeal .. which is a good book but it takes a lot of time to read ...

I was able to download a PDF version of Roman's book from [URL=http://www.TheServerSide.com] a week ago. I checked today it's still there. Why not have both books?

Things are little messed up. Let me say this:
where can we download "Enterprise Javabeabs - Richard Monson-Haefel"?
You cannot. You have to buy the book. However Ed Romans EJB book is free on http://theserverside.com
Anyone could register and download a non printable PDF version of the book. Also, they recommend BEA Weblogic 6.1 to be used with the book to run the examples. On their website (under resources link), they have given all the source code to download and exaplained how to run the examples.
Hope this helps
Chintan

Nehal and Seanli,
Just wondering whether the bartender didn't advice you on Java ranch naming policy?

What Ram said above applies to LittleDoggie also.
