Hi All,
I just passed SCEA Part-1 with 83%. I am not so happy about the score. Anyway I am happy that I scored 100% in EJB, Legacy Connectivity, Appicability of J2EE and Internationalization sections on which I had spent most of my study time. I should have spent more time in Security, Protocols and other sections.
This discussion group helped me a lot for the exam. Really thanks to you all !!
About the exam, most of the questions were scenario based . Questions on security, protocol were tricky . Some of the questions which had 2 or 3 correct answers were really tricky , especially when all answers seem or close to correct.
That's all I have to say.
Thanks again,
-Seema

Thank you all.
EJB - I studied Enterprise Java Beans by Richard Monson-Haefel book and J2EE blueprints on Sun's website.
For other parts I used linkes posted on this site and on yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scea_j2ee/files
John's notes posted on this site and some of the notes posted on yahoo groups scea_j2ee were of great help.

Congrats Seema,
Based on your experience tell me whether questions on Design patterns are based on J2ee patterns or General Patterns (Erich Gama,,,,)

Thanks Prasad,
All Design Pattern questions were from General Patterns not J2EE.
Preparation time I think differs from person to person depending on the work experience in J2EE.
I have little experience in J2EE. I took around 1 month to prepare, spending 1 to 2 hrs a day. Had taken 7 to 8 days break in between because of my job workload.

Hi, Everyone:
I'm new to this group, and I have 3 years working experience in Java/J2EE. Now I want to certificate myself for SCEA. But know nothing about it. I didn't pass SCJP/SCJD yet.
It's said SCEA doesn't need the certification of SCJP/SCJD, and can directly apply for it?
Am I right?
I need your help badly. Thanks.

You're right. No requirements for being SCJA and no connection to SCJP/SCJD

SCJA, SCJD, MCSD
