Congratulations! That's a great score. But it seems as though they deemphasizing the sequence diagrams?! I wonder what it could mean?

Yes, I was surprised to see that too. Obviously, they feel component and class diagrams are much more relevant to a J2EE architect. You could omit the sequence diagrams altogether and still pass with a good grade!

I recall it asked how my solution would scale, how security is handled, whether I used CMP or BMP and why. Other than scaling, the others weren't reflected in my diagrams because I assumed they were more design and implementation details. If I had known they were going to ask these questions, I think I would have known more of what they are looking for in the assignment. I don't know why it is such a big secret. I wrestled with a lot of different considerations that I think are important in the real world, but ultimately my decision to include or exclude them was based on what I figured the assessors are looking for, not what a complete and good architecture would have. So part III was really tough for me. For a couple of questions I had to answer that I hadn't addressed the issues in the diagrams. I did list a number of assumptions in my assignment about things I didn't address and why. That may have made the difference. At least they knew I had thought about them.
