My best wishes to all those that will appear for their Certification exams.

Well done! I just passed my SCWCD and am looking for advice on where to start with my SCEA. However, I'm still debating on what certification to get next my SCEA or SCJD.
How long did it take you from start to finish and
did you use any mock exams ?

hi peter,
thks,
frankly i have not seen the topics covered in SCWCD.
See the topics of both SCEA, SCJD and compare with SCWCD to see which matches better, I think that will help you decide.
Also decide what you are inclined towards, and how much experience you have.
What i feel is if a person new to software does the SCEA certification, the chances of him getting a job of a System Analyst or an Architect are remote.
My preparation was haphazard, four months back I had started with EJB,UML,Patterns. Then due to work i left it in between for around 1 month.
Again i started around 20 days back.
Since i was working, and didn't take any holidays, i cant give you the exact idea , but around 2-3 months of preparation could suffice.
I did take mock tests, one i gave was
Brainbench EJB beta test
Amit Jnagals Mock Test
Prasks Test
Sridhar Ramas Test
Jawaroskis Test
and a lot of questions are there in the scea_j2ee forum
all the best for whatever you do

Hey faiza:
I guess the best way to grasp ejb's is using your hands.
You can either go through Suns tutorial on EJB, or if you have some IDE like JBuilder installed in your machine, just follow the sample tutorials, it might only get several days to get know EJB, but it would take a longer time to know the details, EJB spec 2.0 is a good hand book. There are also many links in this forum talking about study materials
Cheers

thks faiza,
i didn't practice o'reilly book examples , but i do have hands on exp. with EJB.
I think concepts are very important, becoz in scenarios questions u require a higher level view of the problem, and not from API point of view.
However if u have practiced u can relate to the scenarios better.
Hope this helps
thks
