NEW SCEA Mock Test Available!! Today I release a NEW SCEA Mock Test (Available at www.moelholm.com) About: The applet simulates the Sun Certified Enterprise Java Architect Examn (Part I). The applet is 100% free. As a SCEA student I find it surprising that there are so few mock tests available on the net (as opposed to SCJP mock examns) - as a result, this is my contribution.
Requirements: The applet requires the Java 1.4 plug-in. Features: - Full coverage of all SCEA examn objectives. - View/hide score during test. - View/hide answers during test. - View/hide section report during test. - Exhibit functionality (view images). - Supports multiple mock examns (future additions). - Release 1.0 of the Mock Applet contains one mock test (SCEA Mock 1) having 48 questions. Download and Re-distribution: You may download the applet and customize it to suit your own needs. The applet can be easily customized with new questions and images. The applets images is customized through applet parameters whereas the questions are specified in XML files. The Applet is not restricted to SCEA Mock Examns. Link:

Nicky, Thanks! Any new resources are only going to help us on our quest through Part I. In comparison to SCJP2 and SCWCD, the objectives are rather vague and there's not a wealth of good mocks. We don't even have a link to the SCJEA links in this forum
Has anyone here been able to successfully use the mock exam that Moelholm posted? (When I try to use it nothing happens, where the applet is supposed to be, I get what looks like a missing jpg image.) I am not accustomed to using applets. I have been running Jdk1.3.1 and also Jdk1.4.0 without any troubles, and using a couple of version of tomcat without troubles. I feel stupid asking this question - as I feel it is something I asm supposed to know, but I missed this basic point along the way ==> How do I know for sure that I am using the "Java plugin for 1.4"? If it is true that I am using jdk1.4, then doesn't it have to be true that I am using the "Java plugin for 1.4"? Is this the file for the "Java plugin for 1.4"? C:\Jdk1.4.0\jre\bin\java.exe (date on jar file is 2/7/2002) I am using Windows XP (home version) and I have my environment variables: CLASSPATH variable is set as follows: Program Files;c:\tomcat4\common\lib\servlet.jar; Path variable is set as follows: %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;c:\jdk1.4.0\bin Like I said, I have no troubles running anything but Moelhom's Architect Mock Exam applet. thanks - Kevin Thompson

I didn't have any problems. I simply installed the plugin (...I didn't change my classpath at all). Unzipped the zip file containing the applet to my hard drive. Navigated to the following path relative to where I unzipped the file. applet\SCEA MOCK APPLET Double clicked the mocktest.html page and it was up and running. Note: There are similar files (index.html) pages in the deploy and misc subdirectory. If I tried to run it from those, then I had a permission error on one and some other exception for the second. Using the mocktest.html in the subirectory listed above worked without incident. Regards,

Hi, With regards to the SCEA Mock Applet: you do not necessarily have to download it in order to take the test - you can do that online at my site. Download of the applet is only available in order to give SCEA students an opportunity to release their own questions. Anyway, you can verify that you use the Java 1.4 plug-in in Internet Explorer by navigating to "Functions->settings->advanced" scroll down to Java(Sun) and make sure that the option "Use Java 2 v1.4...." is selected. I use a Danish IE so the menu-items has been translated, but you should be able to figure out what I mean. Regards, Nicky Moelholm
