I lost part II and III by scoring only 68%.
I guess Sun wanted to fail me.
I never read pet store.

Actually the grading is performed by a third-party. Therefore Sun couldn't have wanted to fail you, maybe the third-party grader did though.
Don't give up. Reevaluate your design and the decisions you made. Browse thru the posts on this forum and come back with a strong submission. Success does not come without risk.

jon thompson - thanks for posting this.
I know it would be helpful to me if you posted this type of info about your experiences:
1. Here is what I did for my submission for Part II. (These are books I reviewed, the software for UML I used, brief design synopisis).
2. These are the things I did wrong(per the grader's opinion.)
3. If I had it all over to do, here is what I would do differently.
thanks jon!

Why don't you post some things about your submission, maybe we can give you some pointers on why it was weak. I am sure you can pass on your second attempt.
Read over the notes of people that passed and see how your submission compares.
I would definitely read Pet Store, not all of the source code but at least the architecture documents and see how they did things.

Comment: This report shows the total points that could have been awarded in each section and the actual amount of points you were awarded. This information is provided in order to give you feedback on your relative strengths on a section basis. The maximum number of points you could have received is 100, minimum to pass is 70. Class Diagram (44 maximum) .......................... 23 Component Diagram (44 maximum) ...................... 39 Sequence/Colloboration Diagrams (12 maximum) ........ 6

Hi Jon,
my $0.02
Make sure you haven't missed any domain classes from the given business domain model.
Remove any EJB interfaces (EJBHome/EJBRemote/SessionBean/EntityBean) from the class diagram if you have them. Use stereotypes instead.

You were almost there! Look at it this way. You can resubmit and you only need 2 more points to pass!!!
It looks as if you lost most of your points for your class diagram and you only got 50% on your sequence diagram. I would say review a UML book about both and then make some changes and submit again. Have an objective look at it and see why they thought it was lacking.
