Anyone taking PART I soon?

I have heard they are changing it from the 1.1 version of the specs to the 2.0 one.
Is this happening within 2 weeks?
Also does anyone know (and stupidily enough, I need to ask here because Sun is not so forthcoming with these issues), what will happen to all EJB 1.1 certified people?
For how long will this certification be good then?
The old Java 1.2 was "deprecated" already.

Yes, Sun is updating the SCEA track.
No, it won't happen in the next two weeks. They haven't even started beta testing. The update will take place sometime in Spring 2003 (so I hear).
Yes, they plan on giving an upgrade exam for current SCEA holders. It is going to be a single multiple-choice exam.

Incorrect, the SCJP 1.2 exam is still active.

Thank you very much, Chris for this info. I was
about to find out if one was required to do all
the three parts for the upgrade exam.

So is it better to wait and do the new exam instead of doing the old one now, and then do the upgrade?
Thanks

Personally I don't think there is a compelling reason to wait. The benefits of doing the SCEA transcend the specifications. However, If you are just doing it for the piece of paper then I would say you shouldn't bother doing it at all.
