Could anyone please give me some information regarding SCEA Part2. I think my mail got unnoticed because of holiday mood everywhere. I want to start the next step as soon as possible.
Do I need to contact Sun education people for assignment for Part2?
Please send any link that describes all the subsequent steps clearly.
Thanks
Vibha.

Steps:
1. Purchase $250 voucher from SUN
2. Log in to certmanager.net/sun and dnload assignment
3. Do the assignment (Poseidon CE is a good free UML tool from gentleware.com)
4. JAR your assignment
5. Try uploading to certmanager.net/sun (In all probability, you wont be able to and will have to contact prometric or who2contact@central.sun.com)
6. Submit assignment
7. Purchase $150 voucher from SUN
8. Contact Prometric (2test.com) for scheduling part III.
9. Take Part III
10. Buy yourself a drink
11. Think abt next certification!

Thanks Sanjay.
How much time does it typically take to complete Part II?

Vibha,
It took me abt 2 weeks of concentrated effort (3-5 hrs / day)...
I've basically been hearing 2 different approaches...Some people do very little (1 class, 1 component, 5-6 sequence diagrams) and just explain their assumptions. One of my ex-colleagues got 98% with that approach.
My approach, on the other hand has been very comprehensive and detailed. (I am still waiting for the results.) I had a bunch of class diagrams, 1 deployment/component and abt 16 sequence diagrams. So obviously it took me longer.
Depending on how you plan to go abt it, it can be done in around 1-2 weeks...If you have a toddler to look after, may be a month!

What kind of requirement do you receive in order to do the part II ?
In RUP, you need one sequence diagram for each flow of events, but does Sun give you a use-case specification with one flow of events ?
thanxs,
Roger

Thanks Sanjay, I have registered for the SCEA -2 today and would be able to download the assignment in a day or two.
All the best for your result. Do share your experience with part2 and 3 with us when you get your result.
Thanks
Vibha.

Hi Vibha,
Congrats on clearing the exam.!!! I am preparing for SCEA Part 1. I have worked on Servlets and JSPs but I dont have any previous experience in EJBs. I would like to know if you used anything else other than the book Enterprise Javabeans by Richard Monson-Haefel?
Other than EJBs what are the other topics that Part 1 tests on?
Thanks in advance.
