Hi All, I cleared the SCWCD exam on Monday and the score wasn't very good (67%). Want to get really good score in the architect exam. Can someone guide me for the books or good online source for preparation of Part 1? I browsed throught the ranch and found some links but can someone throw light on the resources to check for before I start the study. I have no idea about what the exam is all about. Thanks in advance Neelu Jain

Hi Neelu, I would recommend that you look at the JavaRanch SCEA Links and SCEA FAQ pages. The SCEA links page has a lot of links to topics of interest on the web, mock exams, and books. In particular, most candidates here seem to use one or both of:Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Technology by Mark Cade, Simon RobertsSun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Study Guide (Exam 310-051) by Paul R. Allen, Joseph J. Bambara[/url] I only used the first one (writen by the exam's authors), and found it a good revision book for my existing knowledge. I have my doubts as to whether someone reading it would actually learn enough to consider themselves an architct though. Be warned - it does not cover 'legacy connectivity' at all. Regards, Andrew

Thanks for the help. I looked at the Paul Allen book and looks good. The other book also is a very good source. Will decide soon on one of the two. Thanks again Neelu
