Performance issues in part -II

Part II sepcifies exact performance requirements ( in trems of response time etc).
While doing the architecture, how do we ensure/convince that our solution meets the desired requirement? At architetcure stage, we can not excatly pinpoint about response time etc. so how do we address this issue? Just using good practises etc?

Those who have passed already, could they shed some light on this?

I'm still working on my assignment but I think we should address this just by using best practises. And whenever we have to make a choice for example between performance and manageability, we could choose performance because it is emphasized in the specification.

Yes, it should be 'best'. 'Good' is not good enough!
