Does anyone know of any plans to upgrade the exam to J2EE 1.3 (EJB 2.0). Seems like it is pointless going through with this exam now - since every one has migrated to EJB2.0 atleast anyway and EJB2.0 being the major chunk of this certification.
Any thoughts on this ? Does anyone know of any plans that Sun might have to upgrade this exam ?

Thanks,
Akasmat

From the FAQ:

Early in 2003 Sun announced a beta exam for J2EE 1.4, however at the time J2EE 1.4 was not finalised, and the beta exam was put on hold until after J2EE 1.4 was finalised - this happened in late 2003, so it is possible that Sun may release the beta for the new exam sometime in 2004.

Does anybody have any more specifics than "it is possible that Sun may release the beta for the new exam sometime in 2004"?

I must admit I'm not surprise to see this question again. It makes me wonder why can't people use the search function or just look at the old topics? This question is asked since 2001, I guess.

So who cares when SUN will give a upgrade version? At least I don't care anymore, and since you can apply EJB 2.0 feature in the 2nd part so does it matters for the spec's version? Akasma?

Partically agree. I agree that this question has been asked for a long period.

However, at least, I care about the upgrade.

As I dont wanna study EJB 1.1 for Part I, as the current version is 2.0, and soon will move on to 3.0.

The question is not whether Sun will release a new version of the exam. The question is when. That has not been addressed in the "old topics."

Well Rick, if you really read those old topics about "When a update version will come..." You will see lots of them has addressed the "When" already, like 2002, 2003 spring, end of 2003, 2004, etc. Just none of them become true.
That's why I said I don't care for "When" anymore, because even somebody answers right not, it might be push back as usual.

Don't get me started about those stupid light bulbs.
