Is return message depiction valid UML notations ?

I havent seen a return message depiction in any sequence diagram notation yet its there in Rose.
Is that a valid notation and in what scenarios can we depict its usage if it is valid.

There is a return message notation in Rose. I used this notation in my assignment.

Yes I think it is valid. This feature is available in Together and Jude as well.
