Hi, What books did you use for SCEA part 1? I have the Head First for Bussiness Components and Web Components, but I don't think it is enough. There are topics like Concepts, Common Architectures, Legacy Connectivity, Protocols, Applicability of J2EE Technology, Design Patterns, etc. and I'm wondering what study material to use. At Sun they don't have recommended reading on this exam. Regards, Andrei

Andrei, COnsider reading Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE Technology Study Guide by Mark Cade and Simon Roberts. For design patterns I suggest Head First Design patterns. Regards Santosh

I bought "Core J2EE Patterns: Best Practices and Design Strategies". I saw that many topics in Caddy's book were covered in other books I have. I might buy that one too. I am also wondering how dificult would be the practical part of the exam. I have only theoretical experience with J2EE, but I know how to write code. I haven't taken a J2EE project yet, so I hope this exam will give me more experience. Thanks for your answers. Andrei
