Prashant, please don't shout at us in all uppercase letters. That's considered rude all over the 'net.

thank you for reply.
I typed in my first letter all words capital because it was very very important letter and it is not useful for me only but it is required for all the students who are preparing for SCEA.
Thank you,

As a general reminder, any asking for and posting of links to illegal copies to copyrighted material is unacceptable, and will be dealt with swiftly and severely.

I don't think it is illegal to use free links for copyrighted material. You can get nearly each software and book on peer-to-peer software. It is freeware and protected by law.Such as these books are also protected by law.

If they're download links -like Emule- then yes, it is illegal, and immoral, and won't be tolerated here.

Prashant,

Please change your displayed name to meet the JavaRanch official policy on displayed names. You can change your displayed name here.

Regardless of your attempt to justify yourself, this is still considered rude by online communities (not just JavaRanch), and lowers your chances of getting people to help you.

If you were feeling hungry, would you go and YELL at your mother to serve you food?

Regardless of what you think, the law states that it is illegal to obtain or distribute copyrighted material without paying for it.

To put it another way - do you also think that it is OK for an employer to take all your work without paying for it? That is effectively what you are suggesting - that you can take someone else's hard work without paying for it.

No, you cant. The software provides a way to share electronic items - it does not provide the items themselves. There are people out in the world who deliberately break the law by sharing copyrighted material, but it is not the company who provides the peer-to-peer sharing software who is providing the copyrighted material.

You may feel I am being pedantic here about who is breaking the law, but it is important for the next point.

The peer-to-peer sharing software might be freeware, and that software might be legal. But this is totally different from saying that you can then use it for illegal purposes legally. Your claim is similar to saying that you are legally allowed to drive a car, so it is legal for you to run over a pedestrian. There are two totally seperate concepts, and legality in one does not imply legality in the other.

Also note that I said that peer-to-peer software might be legal. This is a very dubious statement, as many peer-to-peer software companies are currently in court, or have recently been in court having their legality questioned. In some cases (such as Kazza) the software had to be changed to comply with the law.
