Hi,

1) Are we required to specify the utility classes in component diagram? For example, SessionBean uses Utility classes to create XML content and invoke the external system,

SessionBean ---> Utility component
|
|---> External subsystem

Do we need to show Utility classes in component diagram or not?

2) One more thing, can I represent the Flyer system as subsystem in component diagram?

Any thoughts on this?

Hi ya,

1) Cade and Roberts Study Guide uses the Session Bean -> UML External Interface symbol (circle) -> external system in the example that they give in chapter 8

2) Again as with 1) Cade and Roberts Study Guide does in their example in chapter 8.

HTH
