After holding my breath and waiting for 5 weeks, good news finally came in this beautiful Monday morning. Phew, Toronto just has a new SCEA. Ive gotta thanks for all the ranchers here. This site has been amazing to hang around for SCEA.

Here is the score, both part 1 and part 2.

Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition Technology Part I (310-051)
Date Taken: Jan 28 2006
Grade: P
Score: 93

Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for Java 2 Platform Enterprise Edition Technology Part II (310-061)
Date Taken: 2006-11-06
Grade: P
Score: 94
Comment: This report shows the total points that could have been awarded in each section and the actual amount of points you were awarded.
This information is provided in order to give you feedback on your relative strengths on a section basis.
The maximum number of points you could have received is 100, minimum to pass is 70.
Class Diagram (44 maximum) .......................... 39
Component Diagram (44 maximum) ...................... 44
Sequence/Colloboration Diagrams (12 maximum) ........ 11

Here is my lessons learned:
I managed to reduce the amount of classes around 30~32, so there is no DTOs in my class diagram. The SLSBs, SFSBs, CMPs, MDBs and DAOs are used my design, this is very traditional, although someone got a 100% score without Entity Beans. In my daily work, the JavaEE has been used to replace J2EE for a while now, but I didnt take the risk to use it in my design. But I did use Java5 (JavaSE) feature in my design to simplify some old EJB patterns, and it worked. In short, my design was based on JavaSE + J2EE.

Thanks again for all the ranchers.

Congratulation Changski.

Good Score! can you please share your ideas as far as details you had in your component diagram? What type of details did you put in the component diagram?

Thanks.

Hi congrats!!! well done!

How did you come up with 30 classes in your class diagram? I hardly come up with about 15 classes. Did you show business objects only or did you also show controllers and facades in your class diagram?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

In my component diagram, I used stereotype for each component, and also showed the patterns I used in component diagram, just tried to show a clear picture to the ppl who will read it.

In class diagram, I showed all server side tiers classes/interfaces and client side business delegate classes.

I learned a lot from both who failed partII and who passed it.

Hi Sarbur,
do we need to show the swing client in component diagram or not?

Yes, at least I did so. And I imagined myself to be the guy who need to read my design diagram, and tried to make all diagrams as clear and simple as possible.

Hi,

I am a bit confused that you show business delegates in your class diagram. I thought the class diagram should be free of technology and only show business objects
Since you showed all server side tiers classes, did you also show something like Servicelocator or other technical details?

Yes, I did show the Servicelocator. Actually in class diagram I showed from BD, Servicelocator, Session bean to DAO. That's pretty much everything the middle tier developer should work on.

Hello Changski,
Can you share you approach on Business Delegate design? did you create a single Business Delegate? Also, was it a SLSB? How did the clients of it use it?

Thanks,
BR

Congrats on a great achievement.

I have as well completed all the 3 exams but still awaiting for the results. Looks like the site is down for the last couple of days. Can you please let me know where we can find the status of the certification.

Thanks in advance.
