What if after customer selects the seat number then decides to wait for a while before confirming his/her itinerary... other web users might select the same seat number while preparing his/her own itinerary. How should this be handled? Please help.

I think we can leave this to application designers.
As an architect we should not worry about it.

I believe most airlines over sell seats....and part II doesn't make this clear. make an assupmtion, i think this is enough.
