He Congrats. Its not great but more then perfect Can you please help me to clear these doubts regarding the exam format and the marking system of the SCEA PartI. Q1: Is there any questions specific to EJB2.0 in the exam which you have given because I think in this forum who have given this exam recently? OR is the EXAM is updated to include func. of JDK1.5 ( EJB 3.0 etc) or the paper is still same as the previous one, which is J2EE1.2 compatible? And any other questions which are of the higher versions of the J2EE technologies other then EJB from the version which are specified in the SCEA links in JavaRanch? Q3: Any questions directly related to the code of core or J2EE, means examiner is asking that how this code snippet behaves or work? Q4: Marking system is simple as each question carry the same number of marks or it vary from question to question? Please reply for these questions as I'm gng to appear for the exam within 2 weeks, so it will help me immensely. Regards, Manish

Hi Manish Thnx for congrats. About your questions: RE Q1: I think exam is based on EJB 1.1 (no local EJBs, no MDBs too but generinc messaging is covered) RE Q3: No questions related to code. All questions are very high level. Most questions about EJB are when to use them and which one when. RE Q4: I think that all question are equal in marks. You need to answer at least 33 questions correctly to pass. Jacek

Thanks a lot Jacek for your quick response. Your answers clear the doubts of mine. Can you please help me out in finding the correct answers for the following tech. questions which are related to EJB's. Q1: When should we use BMP. Ans 1. If we need to store complex data types and performance is important. 2. If we want to store standard data types and perform. is important. 3. If we need to store complex data types and performance is not important. Are all the above statements are true and suffice the req. to use BMP's Q2: What is true about BMP? Options: A Improves your ability to move your EJB from one Application server to another. B Reduces your ability to move your EJB from one Application server to another. C Improves your ability to move your EJB from one data store to another. D Reduces your ability to move your EJB from one data store to another. What all should be in the answer and why? Q3: When should you use CMP? A When performance is essential and you are storing standard data types. B When performance is not essential and you are storing standard data types. C When performance is essential and you are storing complex data types. D When performance is not essential and you are storing complex data types. What is - are the correct answer(s) and why? Please reply for the above questions. Cheers, Manish

Hi, Q1: 1,2,3 are true because CMP was slow and limited in EJB1.1 Q2: A is true - BMP doesn't require mapping in descriptors which is server dependent D is true - BMP requires SQL in code and SQL might be db dependent Q3: B is true - negation of Q1 Jacek
