I remember wanting to take the exam a few years back but never had the time nor the courage to prepare.
I bought the voucher last year and was not able to take the exam as early as I wanted because of a very busy schedule (both at work and in our local church).
But last month, there were major requirement changes in our project (in a good way) which to me looked like a ray of light shining thru the dark clouds. I knew it was the right time!
I had roughly a month of preparation (not including the time I had the chance to read about a few SCEA topics some years back). My study time can be summarized below: - weekday mornings (approx 1 hr/on a bus to work) - M,T,F evenings (approx 1-1.5 hrs before going to sleep) - W,Th (reserved for other more important things) - Saturdays (probably had 2 of them where i was able to study for approx 2-3 hrs each) - Sundays (rest time! yipee! i made it a point also to take my exam on a Monday so that i was well rested)
My previous exam experiences include the following:
SCJP 1.2 (2001) SCWCD 1.3 (2004) (a bit useful when it comes to Applicability of J2EE and Common Architecures) IBM 486 (2005) (very useful especially on topics like UML and Design Pattterns)
I took the exam April 30 9am Manila time and here is my breakdown:
I have limited real world EJB exposure and focused on trying to understand the lifecycle of the different types of beans. The chapters dedicated to those topics from the SCBCD Study Guide were very very helpful.
I would like to thank all the Ranchers for their help, all those people who took their time to write down in detail (and in a very organized way) their notes, my Thursday bible study small group co-members and my wife for their prayers.

Q: Is it possible to specify the number of EJB instances to pool during deployment time?
Options: 1. True 2. False
According to EJB 1.1 specification, there is no way to specify the instance in the deployment descriptor, but its vendor dependent and could be implemented by vendor in there own way. So, answer should be 2 that is false. But strangely somewhere I read its answer given was True.
