Hi guys,

Just completed my SCEA 5 Part 1 Exam. Just wondering if anyone know how it is graded? What is the pass criteria?

Once I have finished the exam, it says my result will be sent to be in 6-8 weeks time.

I am curious to find out how it will be marked?

Please change your display name to meet the JavaRanch naming policy. It should be your real name (or at least appear to be a real name). You can change your displayed name here.

Thanks, Andrew

Well, nobody really knows how it will be marked - that's the whole point of the beta.

Sun will look at the questions, look at the results, see which questions were too hard, see which questions were too easy, see which questions had complaints, see which which questions may have been wrong, and then figure out what the real exam pool should be.

Then, given that, they'll look at the overall results and figure out what an appropriate passing score is.

Then, they'll apply some Hatian Vodoo to the entire process, come up with a scoring scheme, and send out all the marks.

So, you'll just have to wait the 6-8 weeks and see what Sun Microsystems will come up with for grading the Sun Certified Enterprise Architect Exam (SCEA).

Thanks Cameron. Just wish I could get the result sooner to eliminate the "not knowing" pain .

Everyday I have been thinking about whether I have answer correctly each of those questions. Today I am certain that I did answer a few questions (related to design pattern) wrongly.

Sigh.

If any of you get result for part 1 (whether positive or negative) from SUN, let us know so that we know when the result phase starts.
