StarUml Sequence Diagrams

After reading some of the reviews of UML toolhere on JUavaRanch, I decided to download StarUml. A few people mentioned that it is UML 2.1 compliant, but it doesn't seem so to me. For instance, when creating a sequence diagram, there seems to be no way to create a "found message". Also it models the participants as objects (i.e. with underlines), where Fowler says that UML 2 should not show underlines for participants.

Is there a way to switch to UML 2 mode or something or is there a better tool out there?
