As for me, I started to read CLDC 1.1 Spec. After that, JTWI 1.0, WMA 1.1, MIDP 2.0 and finally MMAPI 1.1 Specifications...

Or if you are too new to J2ME technology, you might want to read a good book that covers MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 like Jonathan's Wireless Java, 2nd Edition...

Hope it helps...

Well you choose the right spec to put you to sleep. But in your dream, you read the spec Chapter 4 for "Trusted MIDlet Suiteis Using X.509 PKI", you will get up again, and do like this

That is why I suggested you to pick up CLDC 1.1 spec before others. It contains more interesting info to get into the SCMAD world...

If you still feel uncomfortable with the spec right away, you might start to read some reader-friendly book, as I mentioned above...

You ppl. are right. Some chapters of MIDP Specs., whole of JTWI specs. and many things in MMAPI specs. are good enough for us to escape sleeping pills. Ko Ko suggested a good idea to start with some book first and then get on with all the specs.

I really wonder if studying all these specs. gonna help us in practical wireless applications... I don't know but I have hardly seen J2ME applications being developed. Those that are being developed are simple UI and RMS based applications, and that too are not being used in phones today because most of manufacturers like to use their own applications developed in customized languages like BREW, C++. And Games obviously are developed using C++. I don't really think J2ME is comparable to C++ when it comes to Game developement for wireless devices.

You are misunderstading, Sam... I only found J2ME is the one and only Game developing technology in mobile phones today. Well, I accept that C++ is ruling the Desktop Gaming World, but not in Mobile Gaming World... Portability and Interoperability of J2ME rules the mobile application development and game developement...

I believe that J2ME will continue to grow up in the mobile applications both in business and game applications...

So keep it up, guys... We are going towards SCMAD...
