Hi all,
I finally decided to do the SCMAD before January 31st 2005. I know it's a tough job to do these kind of exams while working , any way just wanted to know what are the resources that I need. What I have so far is the Specifications of J2ME from sun, Sathyas notes and some other pdfs of J2ME. planning to buy the Whizlabs too. I know it's a worthy simulator. So just tell me whether I am missing some important things. So hope to use this forum as much as I can, I am sure there's always help from you guys,
Thank you very much and anticipating your expertise help in the future...

Well, Ransika, all you have for now is more than enough....

Reading spec is the best way to go for this cert. Since there is no specific exam-centered book, specs are the ones that we should depend on... But I do believe that other J2ME books might help us to understand the concept well... So if you have some other good books, that'll be good for you to polish the knowledge that you get from the specs...

Hope it helps... `

Yes, you will find that all the questions on the test come directly from the specs. Not as in memorization of the spec, but reading the specs and testing them out through WTK to see it in action is the best way to learn and understand, especially for Push Registry, Timers, Security, Conncetions, etc.

Hi,
Ok thanks for the replies. I have J2ME complete reference and J2ME in a Nutshell as well. Thinking of buying Enterpirse J2ME. Michel, I wonder you have a low price edition of your book, I mean the Indian sub continent print, cause I am from Sri Lanka and getting the book down here is a problem from Amazon if I am not wrong. Thanks once again and anticipating your help in the future.

If you got J2ME complete reference, you are already got enough info to start preparing it. If you got any doubts and unclear issues, do check with the spec.

Good luck for SCMAD.

Nick

Well, I guess the topics in Enterprise J2ME won't help much on SCMAD exam... As Nick suggested, The Complete Reference J2ME would be enough for you... What about Wireless Java, 2nd Edition by Jonathan... I heard that the topics in that book are very knowledgeable for SCMAD exam...

Check it out and I think you can lots to read then.

I'll take SC-MAD next year.
