Hi All,
I am so sorry if this was already been answered in an earlier post. I just wanted to know what are the exact things which we should study to become SCMAD.
CLDC 1.1 with differences between CLDC 1.0
MIDP 2.0
WMA 1.1
MMAPI 1.0

and all the Appendixes of these Specifications?

Your comments are much appriciated.
Thanks & Regards.

You also need to study JTWI 1.0.

I don't remember exactly which appendices you need to know, but I'd start by assuming that you need to know them all. Refer to the exam specs for clarification.

Here's a link to my own preparation for the exam (includes links to study guides).

Ransika,
For the appendices, you'll need to study WMA appendices for sure... The best way to make sure is to go thru the exam objectives... But I am pretty sure that you don't need to study many appendices, but only those need as mentioned in the exam objectives...

Hi all,
Thanks a lot for the replies. What I understand is that I have to read the objectives and always have them in mind when I study the specifications. I know it is really hard to get the exact things to do, since this SCMAD is a fairly new exam. Thanks a lot again.

Ransika, so when will you take the exam? I understand that it's pretty hard for those who are busy with their work to sit for the exam, except Nick(Nicolas Cheung), who is superb in sitting for the certification exams...

Hi all,
Ransika, so when will you take the exam?

Well my initial plan was to do it before 31st of March, but couldn't do it, well now I want to do it as soon as possible. Would be really happy to do it with in a month, atleast before the end of may.

I read Sathyas notes and it is so wonderful how he has organized it according to the exam objectives. It has made my life so easier. Thanks a lot for the help Sathya.

I have seen here and even in the whizlabs forums buyers asking why there are errors in the SCMAD simulator, wonder why they have not released an updated version of it or have they already done that?

Now let me explain what my plan is;
Study Sathyas' and Terrys' notes well, in the same time read the perticular section from the specifications also, So I get the entire picture. Will read the specs for 2 or 3 times and create my own notes with the help of other peoples' notes as well.

Then read that note set for atlest 5 times, Test the knowledge with Whizlabs, and restudy if needed. If time permits I can do this with in one month I am sure.

I would be really happy if you share your experience as well in studying.
Thanks for your time.

I've seen many errors as well. But since it was pretty struggling for me to contact them during my exam preparation period, I didn't send any feedback to them. But I know where the errors are, then I just skip them during the test. Then recalculate my score after the test.

You might need to send an email to the Customer Support for the updated version. I'm not sure if the new one with fixes had been released or not.

But during last year, there even was a period that you took exams once a week. That's really awesome.

You don't have to use whizlabs:

That's because IBM and SUN's promotion period were overlapped.

4 IBM exams expired before 31 March 2004, 1 IBM exam expired before 30 June 2004, while there were 2 beta exams: SCMAD in March and SCDJWS in May.

If the vendors could organize the exams among themselves, we dont have to rush for the deadlines.

You don't have to use whizlabs:

You could wait for JMobile+ from Enthuware.
It should be round the corner.

I'd buy the 210 questions from Sun.
Since they are from the source they should be closer to the real thing.
And you won't have to wait.

Umm, I believe that for many Sun's Java certification exams, other commercial exam simulation softwares got higher selling rates than Sun's.
For examples, exam simulation softwares from Enthuware, WhizLabs and Softlearn Systems are more popular, compared to Sun's.

Well, it is not sure that the name will be "JMobile+". So let's wait and see.

In addition, Enthuware's price is much more reasonable while compared to others.

So, how long shall we need to wait?
