Currently there is no legal free ebook available yet for J2ME field, I guess. But you might wanna try the following free J2ME-related ebooks...

Yes as Ko Ko said there are no legal e books as yet, but in the same time, I think still you can find some ebooks if you do some searching, specially a site like projectw.org. Try to get Jonathans books, it is really good. regards

There are also some very good articles, free at java.sun.com. Going tot he J2ME section, on the left menu there is technical articles link.

As well as on IBM's DeveoperWork Tutorials They are really great and easy to understand...
