The question is how many colors are supported by a JTWI1.0 devices? the answer is: 4096
The explanation is: JTWI1.0 devices must support the color depeth of at least 4096 colors (8 bits)
I don't know why? 4096=2^12 why 8 bits means 4096???

Hi There Beginer Beginer -
We're happy to see you at the ranch! I do have a request though... we've found that if people use their real names things tend to stay friendlier, so please change your display name!
Thanks,
Bert

Hi beginer beginer,
You are right that 4096=2^12.
But you are wrong that JTWI 1.0 devices must support 4096(8 bits). In the JTWI 1.0 speification, Page #10, Table #1, it says that Color depth as returned by Display.numColors() is 4096(12 bits). I am not sure from where you got the 4096(8 bits) information.
Hope it helps Please don't forget to change you display name so that I also don't have to call you "beginer beginer" in coming threads.

Which emulator did you use? Is there any setting options in the emulator that can change the color without affecting the version (MIDP 1)?

Hi, Thanks a lot!
The question that i asked come from the "Whizlabs SCMAD Emulator"
This is the 4th quesion in the part "Interactive Quize" -JTWI
If the explanation is wrong, I hope the author can modify it, since it's really a simply question. And we already pay the money for that product.
From some website i notice some people say there are some mistakes in the answers and explanations. I hope some people can point out clearly for checks. sometimes I feel there are questions answers and explanations are confusing. But I don't know it's my understanding problem or the product problem. :-(

Hi beginer beginer,
Glad to see you using the WhizLabs product. The color depth is an error on my part (as the writer of the questions) and I do apologize for the same. You might want to check the WhizLabs forum for errata and other related issues for clarification on the errors.
We have tried our best to keep the answers right and the explanations simple. If you are not sure of an answer or are not satisfied with an explanation, you can always post a question here or at the WhizLabs forum.
Folks at JavaRanch are very friendly and I tend to frequent these forums often too.
