Hi Rosaline,

I would like to get SCMAD certificate, did anyone here get it?

Yup, just passed the exam last week.

what r the resources used ? is there certain book?

Currently, there's still no book written specifically for this exam.

Here are the resources I used for the preparation:
Wireless Java: Developing with J2ME, Second Edition by Jonathan Knudsen

This book covers CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0 stuff. I used this book (2nd edition) extensively for learning Java mobile technology. Read the J2ME technical articles and tips at Sun J2ME website.

The newest version of this book is Beginning J2ME: From Novice to Professional, Third Edition by Jonathan Knudsen. I didn't buy this book since the 2nd edition is a subset of the 3rd edition.

is there mock exams available on the net that are similar in their level of difficulty to real one?

I think Kathy Sierra's Mock Exam Batch 1 was similar to the the real one.

Whizlabs SCMAD Practice Test - 20 Free questions with answers/explanations also very useful.

More links to other SCMAD mocks and resources were mentioned in this thread.

Good luck!

Joyce

Hello Joyce,
Thanks so much for ur reply
and Congracts on ur success
I have worked with J2ME in my graduation project,so I know great deal about J2ME,so it is somehow confusing to me because,I don't know from where shall I begin
also when I tried the whizlabs trial version,I have noticed that there r questions that depend on memorization,so is there such questions in the real exam ?!! or it just depend on real experience?
Thanks again

You could use Sathyanarayanan's notes as a study guide. Quite a number of ranchers used this note for preparation. But be careful, there're typos/errors in chapters 4, 5 and 11. Read the specifications: CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0, etc. A lot of SCMAD resources and mocks can be found at http://www.scmad.com/scmad-study-guides.php.

Yeah, there're questions which require memorization. For example, you need to know which classes in CLDC, J2SE and both. Kathy's sample questions provide a good hint of how the real exam looks like.

I didn't purchase any commercial mock questions.

Rosaline,

A free SCMAD mock exam is available at http://j2mecertificate.com.

Some useful resources for SCMAD preparation can be found at the same site http://j2mecertificate.com/scmad/control/examresources

Hi Rosaline,
Enthuware, which has been very poplar for its JWebPlus among SCWCD exam aspirants and for its JQPlus for SCJP exam aspirants, launched its brand new SCMAD Exam Simulator called JMAD+. You can take a look at JMAD+ Product Home Page.

You can even get FREE 30 exam questions with the trial eidtion. It won't hurt to try.

Just my 2 cents...
