java FX to replace j2me??

at recent javaone meet,java fx was launched. for programming for mobile devices.why was the nned for a javafx for mobile devices when j2me is already there.
is it going to replace j2me in long run??

Aside from the fact that this is probably more a conversation for the Java ME forum rather than the Java ME certification forum...

Having been present at JavaOne when they announced JavaFX, I think you're misunderstanding the intention of the new feature. JavaFX is a scripting format for doing graphical interfaces. It's not a platform API as ME is, nor does it encompass the services that fall into that space, but rather a shortcut for invoking the Java2D API and handling events that affect it.

JavaFX will be supported on JavaME, without supplanting it.
