I think from tomorrow, till the end of this week a significant number of people will appear in this test at the Java One in SFO, where even free vouchers will be given. So anyone roaming around with a SCJP ID# may like to give it a try. Actually, one doesn't have to have the ID ready, it is generally pulled out from the database.
Thanks, Sudd

A small update.
Just now I came back from Java One at San Francisco. Today I found out from the lady distributing the free SCBCD voucher that only 15 have taken the exam there. Not many appeared, and she told me people got discouraged knowing that it was going to be 4 hours long. Tomorrow is the last day of the conference. We can assume another 5 maximum.
So that's it. I wish I had waited some more and appeared at the end of the month. The rate at which voucher are getting used, it looks like even on July 6 one will be able to appear.
Thanks, Sudd

One more thing. I thought of sharing this with all the ranchers in some other forum, but then I decided to put it here.
Today and yesterday proved too good for me. Guess whom I met at Java One.
Cindy Glass, Mark Herschberg, Jim Yingst, Mark Spritzler, Simon Brown AND .....
Bert Bates and Kathy Sierra. (there may be some more names that I can't remember now). It was such a wonderful event and nice experience for me to personally meet and talk to these great guys.
I thanked Kathy and Bert on behalf of all the ranchers for the great help and moral support that they're providing to all of us ...always.
