I recieved the voucher on 25th june. After that i registered for this exam at my local prometric test center, but i got a reply :
The 311-090 Beta exam is been withdrawn on 27/6/03 as
they have reached
the limit of 600 candidates. It was Sun's decision to
withdraw the
exams.
Thanks

Hello all,
How is it possible that someone took the exam on 7/5, while Prometric already withdrew the beta on 6/27 ?
please consult to one of the recent posts..
Michael took the exam on 7/5..

Hopefully that this is all to do with booking. So people having a confirmed booking, but not sat the exam will be OK.
The alternative is a nonsense all round. Sun beta tests become meaningless because next time every body dives in with little prep and hopes for the best. After all the beta is free, so a strategy of randoming guessing has its merits if you don't have time to revise properly or faith that a booking made will be honoured.

I took the exam on July 3 (in San Jose, CA).
Registered for it around June 15.

Howdy -- I'm still confused myself about how it all went down, but yes I think that *registrations* were closed, but people who had an exam already scheduled were still being allowed to take it. Something like that...
I talked briefly with Evelyn, and although I don't have all the facts, it does sound like at least *some* of the problem was on the Prometric side.
Once again, I really understand and am sorry for how frustrating this has been for everyone. I am hopeful that some lessons were learned here that will make it easier and less confusing during the next beta.
Anyway, the real point of this forum now is to prepare for the real exam, so it's just about time to shift into that direction.
I will report on some of the results of the beta when I have news!
Cheers and thanks for whatever patience you have left,
-Kathy
p.s. remember, I'm just a *contractor* for Sun now , not a member of the permanent staff, so please be nice to me
