I wasn't sure if this should go here or MD, but I am sure it will be placed appropriatly if it is not now.
I was thinking that since JavaRanch is the #1 independent Java Site, then there should be a forum where we can suggest improvements/ideas for future JDK releases from Sun.
I know that there is a commitee that one can join to do such things, but I think a forum here would be a good idea as to let the Ranchers make suggestions.
After Paul's run in with the Sun Legal department recently, I know that people from Sun visit this site, so maybe they would take some of our ideas seriously?
Anyway, this was long enough. I just would like to know if anyone thinks this is a good idea, bad idea, has it been brought up before, etc.

hmmmm . . .
I'm trying to envision this. People post ideas and sugguestiong to this forum and then . . .
How are the good ideas extracted from the lousy ideas?
How is Sun informed of our glorious opinions?
How do we ARRIVE at consensus on what our opinion is to begin with?
Why would this conversation not happen at SUN's site ?
I'm just not exactly SURE what it is that you think JavaRanch would bring to the party?
