Beginning with all Sun certification exams taken on or after August 1, 2003, certification offerings from Sun no longer have an expiration date. Rather, certification offerings are based on a version of technology. The certification date and exam version will appear on both a certificate and an identification card with the applicable certification title.

But scbcd does not belong to all Sun certifications on August 1, 2003. I hope no expire date for the certificate.

Hi,
anyway, if you receive a certification with an expiration date, you can ask Sun for one without the expirations date. The following is from the Sun faq: "If a Sun certified professional has already received a certificate and ID card with the printed expiration date, can that professional request another certificate and ID card without an expiration date? Yes. The certified professional will need to send an email to the who2contact@sun.com alias to request a new certificate and ID card. Include your name and Prometric Candidate ID number. " Dani

I gave the exam on 21 july 2003, and had an expiration date on my card, I emailed sun about this and they replied me that I will receive my new non-expiring certificate in 4 weeks.

they are probably getting overwhelmed with requests of new version of certificates without expiry date right now, I will request new version for all my sun certs after I got SCEA and SCBCD.
