I am not part of sun certification commetee so I was wondering what is the scope of SCEA.
my opinion...
SCJP -- this is a real nice exam which brings in very useful and generic feel of a programming feel.
( I wish some thing so renounced and well accepted could have been there in c and c++ )
SCWCD -- this is nice in the sense as most of the API stuff which I had an feel. I saw things comming in a big picture and I could visualise and learn so many things to its WHY About ( I didnt follow any specs )
SCWCD -- I havent taken this but lets see what it has to bring to my know how. I have already read about EJB many a times from book to have an idea ( for interviews ). May be this time a more thorough dissection of the subject.
SCEA -- this exam had EJB Q's built in with assignment. With EJB being taken in SCWCD... doesnt there be changes to the structure and requirement to this exam... I believe sun should rework on its requiremtn. ( May be some one from sun moderator group has idea )
I was wondering why we dont have effective certification for SQL/PL as oracle has for DBA. May be thats easy to learn and no one cares that much for the certification.

SCWCD is Sun Certified Web component Developer does not include EJB.
Are you talking about SCBCD?

Agreed - SCJP is the core exam wherein one can put his programming skills to display/test.
SCWCD - doesn't test one's programming experience but more focused on knowledge of APIs, Web Development scenerios, jsp thread model, servlet thread model etc.
SCBCD - focused exclusively on EJB. Haven't taken this test so I cant comment what the contents are like ?
SCD - Real exam. with assignment - typical hardcore - no doubt.
SCEA - again include programming, scenerios type qtns., assignments, EJBs.
Sometimes, I too just wonder if Sun can come up with exams like on - java.lang, java.util, javax.sql, javax.security ..... 
They are becoming too commercial
