help needed related to free stuff

I am using eclipse for the first time for this exam and its a very good software. ( FREE

)
I was wondering if there is some software for writing DD. Something free.
I was also wondering if there exist for WEB.XML.
there are couple of editors which handle XML but was just curious to know free ones inorder to save time and typing.
I was wondering if the exam is very picky about these ELEMENT ( DD ) memorising.
