Does anybody know when an updated SCBCD covering EJB 2.1 will be launched? Seeing SCWCD 1.4 already on the streets, I dont think it will take too long...

Thanx for any information.

So, why do we already have a WebComponent Developer for J2EE 1.4?

This is mainly because when they decided to create the SCBCD exam the J2EE 1.4 spec was not yet finalized and when they decided to upgrade the SCWCD exam the J2EE 1.4 spec had just been finalized. Personally, I think that the SCBCD exam might not be upgraded until the EJB 3.0 spec gets released, which means that there might never be a SCBCD exam for the EJB 2.1 spec. I might be wrong, though, that's just my opinion

In addition to what Val said, the other reason is that it's way easier to migrate to a new version of web server than to a new version of EJB server. Our sense in creating the two exams was that servlet apps would be using 1.4 soon, and that EJB apps wouldn't be using 1.4 for a long time. (Especially given the state that the big vendors are in, in terms of 1.4 for EJBs.)

Believe or not, we were trying to take a real world perspective!
